Dr. Haber receives Outstanding Young Researcher Award
Dr. Sara Haber will be presented the Outstanding Young Researcher award on April, 25, 2013, at the American Association on Physical Activity and Recreation Convention (AAPAR). The symposium lead by the Council on Aging and Adult Development (CAAD) is recognizing Dr. Haber’s research, which attempts to understand the benefits of staying actively engaged into late adulthood.
“High demand, novel skills like those associated with learning digital photography and quilting can facilitate the recruitment of new brain regions. This research provides evidence that brain functioning can be altered by implementing lifestyle changes. I look forward to presenting this research at the CAAD symposium and am grateful to be recognized for my work." says Dr. Haber.
