CVL is pleased to present the 2017 Dallas Aging & Cognition Conference. This international conference brings together research scientists focused on the cognitive neuroscience of aging to share their latest discoveries and insights through invited and submitted platform talks and poster presentations.
"New Advances in the Science of the Aging Mind"
650 N. Pearl St, Dallas, TX 75201
The meeting agenda for 2017 will be primarily submission-driven and organized around four central themes (see themes below). We are encouraging participants in the 2017 DACC to consider not only being a guest but also a speaker or poster presenter. Abstract submission, as well as poster submissions, are welcome from all attendees. To submit an abstract or poster, please visit the registration page here, look for the instructions, submit a title, author(s) and affiliation(s), which are solicited in drop-down fields -- if you decide to become an active participant in the conference as a presenter. As an added convenience, if you would like to have a poster printed for the meeting in Dallas, we are offering this service at a very competitive price. All of this information is available upon registration.
The four themes are for DACC 2017 are:
The Concept of Cognitive Reserve (with headlining speaker Dr. Yaakov Stern, Columbia University)
Neural Stimulation, Cognitive Training and Enrichment (with headlining speaker Dr. Cindy Lustig, Univ. of Michigan)
Neural Organization and Connectivity (with headlining speaker Dr. Trey Hedden, Harvard University)
Biomarkers of Successful and Unsuccessful Aging (with headlining speaker Dr. Reisa Sperling, Harvard University)
Registration and Details: The 2017 DACC will be held at the Marriott City Center in Dallas. The hotel is conveniently located near major airports serving the Dallas/Fort Worth Area: DFW International (DFW) and Dallas Love Field (DAL). Note: DAL is closer to the conference and is the main hub of Southwest Airlines.
TALKS: Talks will be 15 minutes each with a 10-minute question-and-answer period. The deadline for submission of talks and their respective abstracts is November 1, 2017. The program of talks and abstracts that have been submitted to-date will be available for viewing here. Previous attendees know that the DACC is a special opportunity to report and learn more about breakthrough findings on neuroplasticity, structure, and function of the aging mind. One of the conference’s primary missions is to support the exchange of information among the best scientists in the world, inspiring them to address new questions and develop new methods to understand the neuroscience of cognitive frailty and possible mechanisms of repair.
TRANSPORT TO HOTEL: Cab fare from DFW airport to the hotel is approximately $50-$60 each way. Love Field is considerably less. All of Dallas-Fort Worth is also Uber-friendly. Plus, there are also easy-to-find shuttles (e.g., "Super Shuttle") at both airports.
